He will discuss issues surrounding immigrant and citizen children experiencing family detention and deportation of parents. Professor Luis H. Zayas is the Robert Lee Sutherland Chair in Mental Health and Social Policy at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Dell Medical School. His recent work focuses on the deportation of undocumented immigrant parents and the detention of asylum seeking families from Central America.
